SPECIAL   MEETING BOARD OF TRUSTEES

DATE:  WEDNESDAY, October 2, 2002

TIME:   6:30 P.M.

PLACE:  COARSEGOLD SCHOOL LIBRARY

 

CALL TO ORDER/FLAG SALUTE                The meeting was called to order at 6:37 p.m. by Chairperson Christine Wilder.  All present stood and Mrs. Wilder led the flag salute.               

 

ROLL CALL                                                          Board:  Christine Wilder, Sue O’Connor, Cheryl Anderson, and John Reynolds

                                                                                Staff:  Bill McCabe, Pat Hansen-Sedor, Randy Haggard, Bob Rose

APPROVAL OF AGENDA                A motion was made by John Reynolds and seconded by Cheryl Anderson to approve the agenda as presented.  The voice vote for approval was unanimous.

 

CLOSED SESSION                                               The meeting was adjourned to closed session at 6:38 p.m.

STUDENT DISCIPLINE/LITIGATION

 

Superintendent’s Evaluation                             The board met to consider the Superintendent’s evaluation.

 

OPEN SESSION                                                    The meeting was reconvened to open session at 7:35 p.m.

 

STAR TESTING PRESENTATION Randy Haggard and Bob Rose presented Power Point Presentations for both Coarsegold and Rivergold schools on the Star 2002 test data results.

 

                                                                                There was a brief discussion on the presentation and the future curriculum direction to align with State Standards.

 

                                                                                Mr. McCabe reviewed state and federal legislation  (No Child Left Behind) direction and how it affects our district in the area of performance target.           

                                                                               

Policy Series BP/AR 5141.32 - 5149 Board Policy and the Administrative Regulations were reviewed 5141.32 - 5149 and revised.

 

                                                                                A motion was made by John Reynolds and seconded by Cheryl Anderson to approve as the first reading BP/AR 5141.32 – 5149 as amended except for BP 5142 Safety, BP/AR 5143, and BP 5145.11.   The voice vote for approval was unanimous.

 

CLOSED SESSION The meeting was adjourned to closed session again at 8:50 p.m.

Superintendent’s Evaluation The board reviewed their evaluation with the Superintendent. No action taken.

 

NEXT MEETING DATE

a.        The next meeting was rescheduled from October 16, 2002, 6:30 p.m. at Rivergold Elementary

b.       The next policy workshop was set for November 6, 2002 at 6:30 p.m.  in the Coarsegold School Library.
