Rivergold
collects books for Children’s Hospital
COARSEGOLD — During the week of March 3-7, Rivergold
Elementary School students will be engaged in reading activities as they
celebrate their many journeys through books.
Rivergold students are collecting new children’s books and
invite the community to show their help and support with donations. The new
books, targeted for kindergarten through eighth-grade students, may be dropped
off through March 7 in the school office. Rivergold student leaders will then
donate all of those books to Children’s Hospital Central California.
The entire Mountain Area is invited and encouraged to
contribute. “We hope to bring smiles to the many children and families who are
at Children’s Hospital,” says Chris McMillen.
On Monday, [March 3], the week’s festivities begin with the
arrival of a fire engine at 7:45 a.m., delivering none other than the popular
“Grinch” of Dr. Seuss fame. The Grinch visited Rivergold’s highly successful
“Read Across America” program last year, to the delight of many. At about 8:15
a.m., there will be an exciting, opening rally in the school cafeteria.
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to participate in this fun
and worthwhile event.
