COARSEGOLD — This year’s theme for the Rivergold Elementary School winter performance, on the evening of Dec. 14, was “Winter Wishes for the World.”

The program started when the classes of Mrs. Teresa Davis and Mrs. McMillen brought out three songs from the film “The Polar Express:” “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” “When Christmas Comes to Town” and “The Polar Express.”

Mr. Costin’s second grade performed “Little Saint Nick,” which was followed by a trip south of the border when Mrs. Simon’s kindergarten put on their production of “Feliz Navidad.”

An interpretation of “You‘re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Santa Baby” was staged by Mrs. Withrow’s third grade. Then Mrs. King’s third graders sang and danced to “It’s a Small, Small World ” and recited a choral reading of “A Wish to be a Christmas Tree.”

Staying true to the theme, Mrs. Webster’s third grade presented to the audience their wishes for the world and their rendition of “Every Little Wish.”

All classes returned to the stage for the finale, a singing of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas to one and all.”

The presentation provided the children with an opportunity to show their hard work and talents to the community. The school personnel wish to thank the community for its continued support.
