The Coarsegold Elementary School’s boys basketball team recently won the area’s tournament held recently at Yosemite High School.
Of the eight local junior highs, six schools were represented.
They were the following: North Fork, Rivergold, OCI, Sierra View, Wasuma and Coarsegold.

The championship game featured previous undefeated Wasuma versus Coarsegold.

The Coarsegold team employed a press that upset the Wasuma team.
The pressure carried Coarsegold to victory.

A fantastic tournament organizer, Steve Lopez, is to be commended.
There were no fees to the participating schools. Lopez provided the trophies. Lopez also provided the announcer and the referees.
